Check eligibility for your own passport

Entry rules depend on nationality, travel purpose and entry point. The Dutch government advice reviewed on 3 November 2026 states that a Dutch passport must be valid for at least six months on arrival. Each child needs their own valid travel documents. Confirm your own situation through Indonesian Immigration and current government advice; do not assume the requirements for one passport apply to your whole party.

Visa on Arrival and e-VoA

For eligible tourism visitors, the official B1 Visa on Arrival is currently a 30-day permission costing IDR 500,000, with one possible 30-day extension. Check the current eligibility list, entry points, onward-ticket and passport requirements before applying. The official electronic visa domain is evisa.imigrasi.go.id. Similar-looking paid agency domains are not the immigration authority. Count your stay according to the granted permission, not a rough calendar-month assumption.

Complete the free All Indonesia arrival declaration

The official All Indonesia system combines arrival declarations for immigration, customs, health and quarantine. It can be completed within three days before arrival through allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id. The declaration is free and does not replace a required visa. Keep the resulting confirmation available offline. Use the current official instructions for each traveller and the particular arrival, rather than paying an unofficial service for a basic form.

Bali’s visitor levy is separate

Bali’s foreign-tourist levy is separate from the national visa and arrival declaration. Use the official Love Bali site for the current amount, payment method, exemptions and proof of payment. A visa payment does not establish that this provincial levy has been paid. Retain the receipt and check the instructions for your actual arrival into Bali, including when Bali is reached after another Indonesian island.

Do not assume an extension is entirely online

Indonesian immigration guidance requires an online application followed by an immigration-office photograph and interview for stay-permit extensions, including VoA extensions. Apply with sufficient time and follow the office’s current instructions for your address and permission. An extension is an administrative commitment during the trip, not a reason to book a flight beyond the original permission without a workable plan.

Frequently asked questions

Does the arrival declaration replace the visa?

No. Visa eligibility and the free arrival declaration are separate checks.

Is a 30-day permission the same as a calendar month?

Do not assume so. Check the expiry and counting rules on the granted permission.

Can I extend without visiting an immigration office?

Do not rely on that. Current official guidance includes an in-person photo and interview.

Are these rules identical for every nationality?

No. Check the official requirements for every passport and travel purpose.
