Cambodia

Temple mornings, Mekong evenings and a journey with room to breathe.

Start with the Cambodia trip you want

Build Cambodia around a few contrasting experiences: Angkor’s temples, the capital’s culture, a river or coastal pause and, when the season and connections suit, one island. A week is enough for a focused first visit; two or three weeks create space to slow down rather than simply double the number of stops.

A first visit

Begin with Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. Add Kampot and one island when you have enough nights for the full transfers.

A different Cambodia

Battambang adds provincial-town life and creative culture. Kratie and Mondulkiri need a deliberate northeast travel block, rather than a hurried detour.

Cambodia trip questions

How long should I allow for a first trip?

One week supports a focused Siem Reap and Phnom Penh visit. Two weeks add a southern pause and one island; three give room for more depth or a different region.

Should I visit both main islands?

Not automatically. Choose one bay that suits your accommodation and dining preferences before adding another ferry journey.

Can Cambodia work for families?

Yes as a planning choice, with shorter temple visits, carefully selected historical content and actual room and transport capacity confirmed for the children. Follow the family guide for the decisions involved.
