Check the passport before the itinerary

Requirements depend on nationality, document type, reason for travel and entry point. For Dutch passport holders, the Dutch government states that a visa is required and the passport must be valid for at least six months on arrival. Use the official visa portal and the relevant embassy for the current conditions. Do not apply a rule found for one nationality to everyone in a mixed-passport family.

Visa and e-Arrival are different steps

A visa authorises the relevant entry category; the arrival declaration is a separate process. The official Cambodian portal directs travellers to Cambodia e-Arrival at arrival.gov.kh. The Dutch advice for air arrivals says to complete it within the seven days before arrival. Check the current instructions for your actual entry method and keep the confirmation with your travel documents.

Use official channels and check the entry port

The official visa portal is evisa.gov.kh and the official arrival system is arrival.gov.kh. Search advertisements and similarly named services can be intermediaries. Before paying, verify the domain, visa category, permitted entry point and passport details. An approved electronic visa does not establish that every land crossing accepts it or that a border is currently operating.

Prepare each traveller’s documents

Keep a private checklist for every passport, including children: document validity, the required visa or exemption, arrival registration where applicable and evidence requested by the carrier. Use the exact name and passport number from the document. Check a confirmation before closing the application and retain both an offline copy and the official receipt. Do not share passport images with unofficial booking contacts.

Recheck before departure

Rules and border access can change after flights have been purchased. Revisit the official portal and your government’s advice shortly before travel, and contact the embassy when your circumstances do not fit the standard application. Keep visa eligibility separate from the transport question: a valid document does not guarantee that a particular road crossing is open.

Frequently asked questions

Is the e-Arrival form my visa?

No. Treat the visa and the arrival declaration as separate requirements and follow the official instructions for each.

Can I use a travel blog to decide my visa eligibility?

Use it as a planning aid only. Eligibility must be checked against the official rules for your passport and entry point.

Should I use the first sponsored application result?

Check the domain and who is taking the payment. The official systems are linked in this guide; a similar name is not proof of government status.
